Little Bear with Poinsettias

Welcome and a day before Christmas eve.  The Rubber Buggy, Design Team and I want to wish you a Merry Christmas.

I created a Christmas card with this adorable bear from the Wild Rose Studio Teddy With Flowers.  I just love this little bear and will use this stamp for several occasions and holidays besides Christmas.  I colored the bear with a variety of brown colored chalk and used a red Copic marker for the shirt.
Wild Rose Studio Craft Teddy With Flowers

I added poinsettias using the Heartfelt Creations Celebrate The Season Ornate Sleigh and Present die set.  I cut out 6 poinsettias using red cardstock and glued two for each flower.  I added five holly leaves that are also in this die set.   I added with glue the US Artquest Mini Prills - You Had Me at Yellow to the center of each poinsettia flower.  Behind the bear is the Heartfelt Creation Decorative Oval die cut out with white shimmer cardstock.

Heartfelt Creations Celebrate The Season Ornate Sleigh and Present Die Set
I cut out the Poppy Stamp Merry Christmas banner with gold glitter cardstock and used spray adhesive to adhere to card.  I used Scor-Pal 1/2" self adhesive tape behind the bow to adhere to the card.  I love the Scor-Pal tape since I can remove the ribbon a few times for better arrangement and the tape remains sticky.  The Scor-Pal tape comes in a variety of sizes and I use all of the sizes for adhering the ribbons and bows and always for projects like my easel cards with the drawer.

I can't wait to see the possibilities that you will create making using the beautiful Wild Rose Studio Teddy Bear stamp on your cards or projects.  You can purchase these dies and supplies from The Rubber Buggy on-line store.

Christmas Sled Card

Creating an explosion card with the Heartfelt Creations sled, is only limited to your imagination. All you need to do is to learn the basics for this design and then fill up the spaces with your own inspirations and creativity!  If you’ve never made 3D cards before, this is an excellent place to start. It looks time-consuming but after the first 3D card like this one, the next one is easier and faster to put together.  You can use a ruler and scissor to cut your strips inside the sled and score the crease lines, or you can use a score board, whichever you prefer. Either way, the results will be a fantastic card for little effort!  I’ve made a few pop up box cards using just a 12" x 12" cardstock but this sled with the pop up tree and presents is surprisingly simple to make and yet still rewardingly impressive to give to a loved one.

This sled is able to fold down just like any explosion card.  Basically, I used the same technique for this card and created a tutorial on the measurements using this Heartfelt Creations Celebrate The Season Ornate Sled.

Instructions:

This tutorial is for making the first sled with the presents.  Basically, follow these instructions for making the second sled using the Heartfelt Creations Pampered Pooch collection of dies and stamps.

Heartfelt Creations Celebrate The Season Ornate Sled

Using the Heartfelt Creations Celebrate The Season Ornate Sled stamp and die set, emboss two sleds with NUVO Silver Moonlight Glitter embossing powder and die cut.  I like using 110 lb weight cardstock for sturdiness for cards like this one.  If you don't have this heavier weight of cardstock, cut out two extra sleds to glue behind the embossed sleds.

Cut out 10 poinsettia flowers and 4 holly leaves using the Heartfelt Creations Celebrate The Season Ornate Sled die set.  I colored theses poinsettias and holly leaves with Copic Markers and used my fingers to pinch the center of each petal for the poinsettias and holly leaves.  Glue two poinsettias together and apply glue to the center of each poinsettia and add US Artquest Mini Prills - You Had Me At Yellow.  Glue the poinsettias with holly leaves on the sled.

Cut out the label "Enjoy"found in the Heartfelt Creations Celebrate The Season paper.

Tutorial For Support for Inside:

Step 1:  Cut two white card stock strips 1/2" wide and 2 1/2" long. Cut three white card stock strips 1/2" and 3 1/2".  (NOTE:  Most explosion cards have two rows rather than three.  If you don't plan on adding less toppers, I would suggest only cutting out two white card stock strips than three).   Score 1/2" on each side end of the four strips of paper.

Fold left on one end and fold right on the other end of each strip.  Glue or use 1/2" wide Scor Tape to each end of the strips.

I like folding the strips down first (photo below) and then apply adhesive such as glue or Scor Tape before sticking the last strip.

Step 2 Gluing Support to Sled:  Adhere the inside support of the card to the sled using glue or two-side adhesive tape.

When the inside support is glued, the card will be able to fold down even after the toppers.

Step 3 Toppers:   Stamps the presents using the Heartfelt Creations Celebrate The Season - Gift Wrapped Presents stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and die cut using the die set.  Color the presents with Copic Markers.
Heartfelt Creations Celebrate The Season Gift Wrapped Presents Stamp Set
Heartfelt Creations Snow Kissed Spruce stamp

Using dark green cardstock, stamp the medium sized pine tree using the Heartfelt Creations Snow Kissed Spruce stamp with Memento Tuxedo black ink and die cut using the Heartfelt Creations Snow Kissed Frolicky Frosty and Spruce die set.  To attach the presents and tree to support frame on the inside of the sled, cut out 9 strips of white cardstock measuring 1/2" wide and 3" long.  Depending on the size of each present, adhere the end of each strip behind the present and tree.  Before permanently adhering each present and tree to the inside, I use double-side tape that isn't too sticky kept arranging the presents and tree to the support until I got the arrangement I wanted as well as making sure the card is still able to fold.  When I was satisfied with the arrangement, I used permanent adhesive to the ends of the strip and glued each one to the support frame on the inside of the sled.  I cut off any strip that extended below the support frame.

I hope you'll give this card a go. It might be a little bit of a challenge but it's definitely worth the effort.

Merry Christmas To You

Welcome back and Nancy Hill, design team member for The Rubber Buggy.  Take a look at this gorgeous Tattered Lace Merry Christmas Vintage die at The Rubber Buggy and also on sale while supplies last. I highly recommend that you use my tutorial, click HERE,  on cutting this die out with cardstock behind the die and fabric softener sheet behind the cardstock to take the pieces out of this die cut or keep these pieces that will stick on the fabric softener sheet to insert in another Tattered Lace Merry Christmas Vintage cut out with a different color.  Previously, I had cut out this die using fabric softener sheet behind white cardstock and then cut it again with red glitter cardstock.  I peeled off the pieces and glued it with the red glitter cardstock die cut.
I glued the Merry Christmas with spray adhesive glue and stuck the die cut on embossed shimmer cardstock using the Crafter Companion Lace 3D embossing folder.  The beautiful patterned paper is from the Heartfelt Creations All Glammed Up paper

I used the Scor-Tape 1" wide, to adhere the patterned paper on the Bazzill Peppermint cardstock.  On smaller cards, I will adhere layers with glue but for larger cards like this one above, I use Scor-Tape to keep it from warping.  I love the Scor-Tape for adhering bows and ribbons to my card.  If I am making a paper crafted project, I prefer using Scor-Tape over glue.

Bazzill cardstock is quality paper and the colors are just beautiful.  Heartfelt Creations has beautiful patterned paper and I love using it since the stamps and dies coordinate with this top-quality paper.

I can't wait to see the possibilities that you will create making your card with the gorgeous Tattered Lace Merry Christmas Vintage die.  You can purchase these dies and supplies from The Rubber Buggy on-line store.

Hailey's Happy Birthday Easel Drawer Card

Welcome back to The Rubber Buggy blog for Nancy Hill, Design Team member.  I love personalizing my easel cards with the drawer for each person.  Sometime the drawer is filled with chocolates, dies, gift cards or money and on top of the drawer could be a Post-It or calendar.  The sentiment is inside the drawer.  I have samples of other cards similar to this one in my tutorial.  To see my tutorial on how to make an easel card with a drawer, click HERE.

The easel card with the drawer measures 7" x 7".   I used a heavy weight 110 lb cream cardstock and adhered the drawer and easel card with Scor-Tape. This card was made mostly of the Heartfelt Creation collection All Glammed Up stamps and die sets besides other Heartfelt Creation dies and stamp sets from The Rubber Buggy.

On top of the drawer is a Post-It.  I made a cover for it with the Heartfelt Creations All Glammed Up paper.  I cut out a sentiment found in this  paper collection and adhered it to a banner that was glued on top of the cover.

The background behind the photo is the Heartfelt Creation Fashionista stamp that was embossed with NUVO Gold Enchantment Glitter embossing powder.  I cut out the shoe from the Heartfelt Creations Lift Your Sole die and stamp set  and used 3D foam dots to stick on top of identical shoe in the Heartfelt Creations Fashionista stamp set.  I used Copic markers on the flowers of this shoe.

Using the Heartfelt Creations Classic Rose die and stamp set, I stamped and embossed the flower with the NUVO gold embossing powder and cut the petals out.  I used a flower shaping tool for the flower before gluing it together.  I cut out the Heartfelt Creations Classic Rose leaf with gold metallic cardstock and glued it on back of the rose.  I took a branch die cut and added glue to the tip of the branches and dipped it in a small packet of star foam balls.  I glued this behind the leaf.  I made the bow from seam binding ribbon and glued it on the back.  I cut out the label "Treasured" from the Heartfelt Creations All Glammed up paper collection and glued it next to the ribbon.

I stamp the inside drawer with the Heartfelt Creations Botanic Orchid Wish Stamp and colored it with colored pencils.  I added a decorative brad in front of the drawer.

This is when the easel card is folded down on the drawer.  The photo of my grand daughter was adhered to an oval that was cut out with gold metallic cardstock. I used the Heartfelt Creations Eyelet Oval die and cut it out with gold metallic cardstock and trimmed the scallops off of the die cut.  I cut out another Heartfelt Creations Eyelet Oval die cut that is shown behind the photo  with the Heartfelt Creations All Glammed Up paper and glued the photo with the gold oval on top.

Musical Instrument on Christmas Wreath

Nancy Hill for Frantic Stamper Design Team and excited to share with you the beautiful Frantic Stamper Quartet Musical Instrument die set along with the Frantic Stamper Bit Of Music 6" x 6" stamp.  The Merry Christmas was stamped with the Frantic Stamper Square Christmas Vignettes.

I stamped using Ranger Antique Linen ink on a 5" square white cardstock with the Frantic Stamper Bit of Music.    I stressed the edges and sponged it with the same Ranger Antique Linen ink.

I cut out the Frantic Stamper Quartet Musical Instrument die set with gold metallic cardstock.  I traced each instrument die on cream shimmer cardstock.  I added Dee's Distinctively Cedar Sprig Large cut out with green cardstock to make the wreath.

I created a floral plaid bow and added red jingle bells and red and gold star foam floral spray on top of the bow.  I make my own tiny angels using a mold and angel frame and added it to the wreath.

Now is your turn to use your imagination and creativity to design your own card using the Frantic Stamper 2017 November coordinating dies and stamps from Frantic Stamper on-line store.

Life is a Song

Nancy Hill for Frantic Stamper and excited to share my three-page card with you using the new
2017 Frantic Stamper November release dies and stamps.  I used the Heartfelt Creations Fleur Border Basic die set to start with the frame of the first two pages of this card using the scallop lace border on top of the first two pages.  I embossed the white shimmer cardstock with a Sue Wilson Swirling Heart embossing folder.

On the front page, I cut the Frantic Stamper Baby Grand Piano with black and gold cardstock and pieced the black and gold as shown above.  I took the music stand and die cut it with white cardstock and added the music notes from the Frantic Stamper Sing It stamp set.
The second page was stamped with the Frantic Stamper Bit of Music with black ink on the shimmer white cardstock.  I die cut the Frantic Stamper Music Ribbon with gold cardstock and cut off the end of the first bar of the music ribbon.
I used the coordinating Frantic Stamper Music Coved Labels and Frantic Stamper Elementals #7 Coved Labels.  Wonderful to have together in your die collection.   The sentiment was stamped with black in from the Frantic Stamper Sing It stamp set.  I cut out the Frantic Stamper Lovely Arched Loop and Lattice Edger with gold metallic cardstock and adhered it to the top of the card.  I stamped the Heartfelt Creations Lift Your Sole stamp with gold tinsel embossing powder and adhered it to the bottom of the card.

Love and Kisses

Nancy Hill for the Frantic Stamper Design Team.  I made this card using the new 2017 November Frantic Stamper dies and stamps.  I used the Frantic Stamper Rectangle Tangled Frames #10290 and Frantic Stamper Love and Kisses #10351 die set.  I cut these dies with black card stock and used Aleene Fast Grab and Fast Drying spray adhesive to the back of these dies to stick on the card.  The patterned paper and image are from Graphic 45 Botanical Garden paper collection.  I added a coral seam binding ribbon and bow to the side and adhered it with 1/2" wide Scor-Tape.  The white paper measuring 6" square was sponged with Ranger Antique Linen ink after embossing it with Sue Wilson Rose embossing folder.  I added a dogwood flower that was made with the Heartfelt Creations Dogwood Flower die and stamp set.  I added prills in the center of the dogwood flower.

Christmas Bunny - Easy Shadow Box Frame Tutorial for Card

Nancy Hill for The Rubber Buggy Design Team.  I am excited to share my Christmas card made with the wonderful products at The Rubber Buggy Design Store.  I made a small tutorial on how I made the 3D frame.  This technique can also be used to made shadow boxes.   I tried other techniques of using 3D foam behind each rectangle frame but the 3D foam just was too large and difficult to cut out for the 1/2" frame border.

Tape two Spellbinder Nestabilities or Sue Wilson rectangle frames together as shown below.  If you want a wider frame border, use the size larger and tape the two dies together.
I like using heavy cardstock to cut out frames.  This cardstock is 110 weight paper.  I cut out four frames and my main frame that will be glued to the top.  I used Aleene Fast Grab and Fast Dry glue rather than a hot glue gun since I didn't want the glue to dry too fast to align each frame on top of each other.  If I wanted to do a deeper 3D frame, just cut out a few more and glue together.  Glue the four frames and then the top patterned frame together.

I applied blue ink inside and outside the frame with a sponge.  As you can see below, the inside and outside frame color matches the top patterned paper frame.

I like using the Scor-Pal Tape 1" wide to tape the picture behind the green Heartfelt Creations patterned paper.  I use the same 1" Scor-Pal Tape to tape this to my folded cardstock.

I colored the Wild Rose Studio Christmas Bunny stamp with Copic Markers and cut this out with the plain oval die in the Heartfelt Creations Eyelet Oval die set.  I cut out the Heartfelt Creations Eyelet Oval decorative die with white cardstock and glued the bunny image on top.  I used Scrapbook 3D foam adhesive tape to glue the decorative die to inside of the frame.

I applied drops of Aleene Fast Grab glue around the Christmas Bunny and sprinkled on  Stampendous Chunk White Deep Impression Embossing Enamel.  After shaking off the embossing enamel that wasn't stuck to the glue, I used an embossing gun to the embossing enamel.  I love this embossing enamel when I want to make the snow appear to be 3D.
I added the Poppy Stamp Merry Christmas Banner on the left corner and Frantic Stamper Petite Poinsettias die set.  The pine branch die was cut with green cardstock and I sprinkled more embossing enamel to make it look like it has snow.  I made a floral bow and found some tiny pine cones and glued these pine cones with a hot glue gun to the bow along with red star foam flower spray.

White Poinsettia

Nancy Hill for Frantic Stamper Design Team.  I wanted to share my Christmas card with you made with the gorgeous Frantic Stamper Poinsettia die set along with the beautiful Frantic Stamper Merry Christmas die set.  Behind the poinsettia, the scallop silver edges are from the Frantic Stamper Lattice Beauty Edger #10303.  I cut this die with silver metallic cardstock and the Heartfelt Creations Celebrate The Season blue paper.  I cut out the scallop from the blue paper and glued it on top of part of the silver card stock with only the silver metallic scallops showing.

I created a tutorial, click HERE, on how I made my poinsettias from the Frantic Stamper Poinsettia die set.  I glued three gold beads in the center of this poinsettia and added Sue Wilson Beaded Swirl Flourish and Sue Wilson Delicate Fronds dies set cut out with white shimmer cardstock.

Handmade Autumn Wreath

Welcome to my blog, Nancy Hill for The Rubber Buggy Design Team.  I made my 8" wreath with grape vines, Heartfelt Creations Classic Sunflower dies and stamps, Elizabeth Craft Crysanthemum die, an old maple leaf punch, Tattered Lace Floral Layer leaf die set, starfoam pumpkins and wheat from our field and pine cones from trees.

After stamps and die cutting the Heartfelt Creations Classic Sunflowers, use flower shaping kit to mold the petals on the back.  Sponge with NUVO Embellishment Mousse fall colors listed below and sponge Lawn Fawn Sunflower ink on the center of each petal.  Adhere US Art Quest Express Yourself Prills to the center of each sunflower.
NUVO Embellishment Mousse-Indian Gold
NUVO Embellishment Mousse-Persian Red
NUVO Embellishment Mousse - Coral Calypso
Cut out the Tattered Lace Floral Layer leaves and sponge some of the NUVO mousse fall colors on the tips.

Cut out each Elizabeth Craft Crysanthemum flower with different fall colored cardstock.  Using a flower shaping kit, curl the petals upward and adhere the layers.

Stamp and embossed with NUVO Gold Enchantment embossing powder the  Heartfelt Creations Banner with the sentiment and heat the powder with the hot embossing gun.  Cut out a 8" floral wire and bend in the center.  Using a hot glue gun, glue 3" of the double wire on the back of the banner.  The remaining wire will be used to attach and glue to the wreath at the end of the floral arrangement.

Cut enough 3" wire strips for each flower, leaf and pumpkins.  Curled one end of each wire enough to be able to use a hot glue gun to attach it to each flower.  I was able to use a long nose plier and curl about two small circles of wire that was enough to do a good attachment.  Using a hot glue gun, glue the curl end of the wire to each flower, pine cone and star foam pumpkin.

Cut 3" floral wire and glue about 1" of the wire to the back of each leaf. This will make the leaves able to bend a little plus add sturdiness.

Make a floral bow and use a hot glue gun to glue the bow to the wreath.  Arrange your autumn arrangement by poking the wire attached to the flowers, etc.  When you get the arrangement you want, use the hot glue gun and glue each wire attached to a flower or leaf  to the wreath.  If any wire is sticking out of the wreath, just attach it to the wreath or cut it off.  I was able to curl the wire attached to the banner to give it a wave appearance.  Using the hot glue gun, glue around the wires inside the wreath to make it stay there permanently.

I can't wait to see the possibilities that you will create making a wreath.  You can purchase these dies and supplies from The Rubber Buggy on-line store.

Enjoy and Happy Crafting!
